I’m Back

Yesterday I received a comment that said, “I miss your blogging. Come baaack.” I was really surprised. I thought the world kept on going and that no one would really notice that I haven’t been blogging for the last two months. After reading the comment, I felt really sad, but also really happy at the same time. It made me realize that I do have regular readers that are interested in what I have to say or show which gives me a big smile. The sadness comes from letting you guys down. I’m sorry!!!

Before I go any further, let me tell you what has been going on the last couple of months. Before the holidays, I was working on my blog all the time. It was like this career that I wasn’t getting paid for. I loved it, but hello, I’ve got quite a few bills to pay. I’ve always worked part time while doing Sweet Fuzz, but let me tell you it was not easy! I was literally working like eight hours a day on Sweet Fuzz, then going to serve at night. Trying to keep up with Twitter (which I never could), Facebook, commenting on other blogs, responding to comments on my blog, keeping up to date with fashion news, taking self style photos, trying to get advertisers and do newsletters…not to mention just doing posts! It was like a full time job.

I started blogging because I love show and tell, and blogging is just that. Sharing information. It was also my intention to someday make a living by writing my blog. Like every other blogger wants to do! But between juggling the blog and working part time as a server and then in retail, it just got to be too much. I was barely making any money in my part time jobs and could not keep up with the whole fashion blogsphere. I wanted to go to fashion week this month, but unless I maxed out my credit card, there was no way I could afford to go at this time. The whole process became very stressful, and not really enjoyable anymore (which was why I started it in the first place).

So… I have decided I should continue my blog, but more as a hobby. I worked so damn hard on this blog, I’m not going to give it up, but I’m also not going to stress myself out trying to get into the top 100,000 sites on Alexa or getting my photos on the front page of lookbook.nu. Nope those days are over for me! Now, it’s just about sharing my favorite things with you. Enjoying life man, that’s what it’s about!

New Obsession: Hooks

In the last couple of months I’ve had a lot of changes in my life, most notably was moving into a new place and starting a new job at Anthropologie. Now that we’ve moved into our new place and I have an awesome discount at Anthro, the two have been very intertwined. Every day I work I see something new that I want. My latest is obsession are wall hooks. I never really gave them much thought before, but so many cute ones at Anthro and Urban. I just bought all the animal ones above to use as key hooks in the kitchen…

Reese Witherspoon Style Guide

I have to be honest. I haven’t always loved Reese’s style. I always thought she was an amazing actress and is gorgeous, but I just couldn’t relate to her style wise. In my opinion she seemed too conservative and dressed too old for her age. I don’t know what caused the change, whether it was a new stylist or dating Jake Gyllenhaal, but I think she is right on the money with her style choices now. She always looks fresh and I hate to use the word, but definitely more trendy. She still sticks to a more conservative side, but dresses much more her age. Above are three great examples of what I think is Reese’s style now.

The first photo is perfection.  Um, yeah, I think Rachel Zoe has definitely rubbed off on me.  I love the loose black shirt tucked into her skirt and the shoes are amazing.  Also, loving the Ray Bans which fit her style perfectly.  The second photo shows that you can be conservative yet sleek which I think pretty much describes Reese’s fashion choices.  The third photo is a more casual look, but she uses those boots to dress it up a bit.

Stuff I Want for Christmas

I just started reading the Twilight series after seeing New Moon. I used to read all the time and I forgot how fun it can be. I was recently in Barnes & Noble and I saw their leather bound editions which now I’m a little bit obsessed with getting.  I definitely want the Grimm’s Fairy Tales and the Stories of Hans Christian Andersen.  I used to read all those stories when I was a kid and I think it would be really cool to have it all in one book.  They also have the complete vampire collection of Anne Rice’s novels including Interview With A Vampire which doesn’t seem to be available online.  So if anyone is listening…

Louis Vuitton Spring 2010 Campaign

I love nature and animals so when I saw this ad campaign for Louis Vuitton for next Spring I fell in love.  I love the mixing of the greens and the woodsy browns.  The setting is peaceful and a nice change from recent Vuitton ads. Lara Stone is the model and the campaign was shot by Steven Meisel. Love it, love it, love it!

Gisele and Tom Have A Baby Boy!

I usually don’t do celebrity news on Sweet Fuzz.  Definitely celebrity style, but this news is just too happy and exciting!  My favorite supermodel and quarterback just had a baby boy last night according to People magazine.  Now some of you might be rolling your eyes, but to me this is really exciting news!  Congrats Gisele and Tom!

House of Spy Party Dresses

Tis’ the season for holiday parties and I just got an update from independent designer House of Spy about their party dress collection. I love this time of the year because it’s a chance to get dressed up in something a little more classy and dressy (at least here in San Diego).  These four dresses are my favorites from House of Spy (although there are many more great ones to choose from).  I love the cream colored dress is the the first photo.  It’s the perfect winter dress and it looks adorable paired with the chain necklace.  The back of the second dress is to die for!  So unique and absolutely guaranteed to make you stand out in any party.  I love the combination of the metallic skirt with the sheer top and the longer sleeves.  Very classy yet sexy, I would definitely wear that dress.  The neckline on the final dress is so pretty, love the lace and I also love the metallic charcoal color.  There you have it, some beautiful unique dresses that you won’t find in stores.  These dresses are available at ShopHouseOfSpy.com.

My New Fave Artist

I just recently heard of Jeremy Fish on my friend’s website, The Wave Journal (a site about surfing, art and music). My friend, Mike, had gone to Jeremy’s first museum art show in Laguna Beach and had posted some photos of the show. The art blew my mind and I really want to go check it out in person. Just so happened I was also checking out Fecal Face (a great art website) and Jeremy was featured on the homepage. His art is very intricate and I love how he uses animals and skulls in pieces. I don’t know why, but skulls always intrigue me (when done right). Above are a couple of photos of his art which you can see plenty more of on Fecal Face. Red for the Holidays

Red lips have kind of been a hit for 2009, but now is the perfect time to sport them. With the holidays coming up, nothing is more merry than ruby red lips, especially when you have someone cute to kiss under the mistletoe. Some of my favorite bloggers are here rocking the reds. I wish I knew what they are wearing as I am looking for the perfect shade. If anyone recommends one, let me know!

Look of the Day-Natalie Portman

It’s been sooo long since I’ve done a celebrity look of the day, but I had to do one of the gorgeous Natalie Portman in this ruffly royal blue dress.  Love this look.  I like how she played around with the colors and how nothing matches.  The clutch is yellow, the belt is green and you can’t really see it too well, but her heels are like a fuchsia color.  Really a fun look! Behind the Scenes at Victoria’s Secret

It’s that time of the year again…Thanksgiving, Christmas and the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion show. I think it’s one show that girls and guys both want to watch. Obviously the guys watch because there’s hot models and the girls watch to see the new styles and gossip about the models. At least that’s what my friends used to do. And in a strange way it gets me in the holiday spirit…actually, let’s be realistic here… it just makes me want to shop! For myself!

Is Big Hair Back?

I thought the days of big hair were on the outs right now, but it seems it may be making a comeback. Hair of late seems to have taken on a no nonsense air dried approach, sometimes almost looking dirty. A couldn’t be bothered look, that’s what I’m trying to say. Well, I’ve tried to do that myself and I can’t stand it! My hair just plain looks bad when I don’t do anything to it. Straight on top and curly underneath, ughhh! Anyway, I’ve always liked big hair like Cindy Crawford in the 80s. And I always tend to curl my hair so I think I’m going to jump on the big hair bandwagon. Watch out America!

By the way, so over my bangs. I knew I would be. I think they’re adorable on others, but for me, I think it makes me look twelve and I’m turning 30 next week, hmmm….don’t really know if that’s really the look I’m going for. Big hair it is!
